The Special Weapons are weapons which cannot be obtained normally during gameplay. Unlike the regular weapons, they can't be purchased between missions, only being dropped randomly by specific enemies at predetermined points in the game. Some of these offer passive attributes to your ship, while others add to the ship's firepower. They are fired with the main shot button and must recharge, but the player must not hold the fire button.
